WHAT IS BWPHOTOPRO.COM?
It is a B&W photo Webzine, online only, and it is currently updated approximately every week. It was created and is run by Eric Rudolph, a longtime photography journalist.
HOW CAN I HAVE MY PHOTOGRAPHY FEATURED HERE?
Send us four compelling B&W images. (rudolph2528@gmail.com)
Size the photos at 4x5” at 200 DPI or higher.
(PLEASE NOTE: By submitting photographs and written material to this site, you are :
1. Authorizing us to publish the material on this site; 2. Agreeing to absolve us of any responsibility for any infringement and for other legal issues that may result from our publication of this material.)
IS THERE ANY PARTICULAR SORT OF B&W PHOTOGRAPHY THE SITE FAVORS?
We’re about “straight photography,” in other words, no obvious gimmicks or whacky special effects.
The photos you send us should represent a fairly significant body of work. A few good shots won’t do, unless they are truly exceptional.
Please be prepared to send us a dozen more images, and pls. don’t tell us to go to your flickr account or your Web site for more. Select the work you’d like to have published and have it ready to send to us once you make your initial submission of four images.
We’re especially interested in medium- and large-format film photography. We like square-format film work quite a bit.
We’re open to both analog and digital, and we do somewhat favor images that include people and/or life forms of some kind, even if they’re only a tiny part of the images. We favor such images, but we do run other kinds of work, such as pure landscapes and tabletop.
CAN I JUST SUBMIT PHOTOS, OR DO I HAVE TO WRITE ABOUT MY WORK ALSO?
If you have something interesting to say about your work, that helps too. Here is the basic Q&A we use, below. The more you have to say about your work, and the more interesting it is, the more likely we are to feature your work. If you submit good photos and a cool Q&A that is clearly written and interesting, or any other well-written piece about your work, your chances of being featured on the site become excellent. We rarely run photos that do not at least have a Q&A from the photographer:
BWPHOTOPRO.COM – BASIC Q & A
How much of your work in is B&W?
Pls. tell us why you work in B&W; what does working in B&W mean to you?
Where do you find inspiration? Who are you photo heroes?
Technical: camera, lenses, film, digital or darkroom approach & materials.
Do you have your own darkroom?
Anything else you'd like to add, pls. do so.
I WAS TOLD YOU WOULD FEATURE MY WORK, BUT NOTHING HAS HAPPENED. WHAT GIVES?
Our apologies. We have a real backlog of submissions, and you may need to remind us of your submission. Pls. feel free to do so. We really sometimes need to be reminded.
